...but who might nonetheless be interested in videos related to cats (and specifically, respectfully interacting with cats, which might tie into some ethics/neurology/inter-species communication stuff of interest to readers of this blog), I have recently posted 2 new video posts to Felines Are Wonderful:
- The first post is here
- The second post is here
...and for anyone who doesn't read Cat Blogs on principle but who might still be curious about the videos, I've embedded them below:

Most enjoyable.
I don't dare go to your all-cat blog because I know how much time I could, almost certainly would, wind up spending there...
Your Brodie [sp?] looks and seems to be a lot like my cat Meep - though Meep may be a bit more easily startled. He was born wild, excellent mum kept at least two kittens alive in a hedge until the builders came at 12 weeks (if you use Facebook you can find a picture of his inviting stretched out furry being at its most relaxed).
I will try the head tilt thing, I've since infancy been tuned in to the gently squeezed shut eyes. Hey, I seem to automatically do a little back tilt of the head when I shut my eyes and say "puss" in a very soothing manner (I just discovered this!). I find little kissing noises are a great attractor for most cats. I've found these noises surprisingly likely to be noticed by a cat at some distance even in a noisy environment. I wonder if you would confirm that.
Also I find that many cats are almost mesmerised by a finger pointing towards them and revolved in a diminishing spiral at middling speed. Have you or others noticed this? I can see why you decided to make the videos... Thank you very much.

Brodie's name is indeed spelled, well, Brodie, so you got that right. And he and his two siblings (Cora and Shadow) were also born wild, to a feral mother. I trapped them last year using a home-made box/drop trap and at that time they were between 7 and 10 weeks old.
Re. your kitty Meep, I would certainly love to see a picture but I generally avoid facebook these days (I have an account and I've used it in the past to communicate with relatives, but mostly I despise logging in over there because of all the "features" and visual clutter.) He sounds very sweet and definitely Brodieish in some ways.
Brodie is still easily startled even if I move too quickly, and disappears if visitors come by, but as you can see in the video he knows how to relax just fine as well!
As for little kissing noises -- if you're talking about the sort of modified "tsk-tsk-tsk" thing with a slight squeak built in, yeah, I've noticed that cats are often interested in that as well. My guess is that it's one of the most high-pitch-containing sounds humans can make, and cats are evolutionarily geared to notice high pitched sounds. But that's only a guess.
Oh, and re. the finger-spiraling thing...I'd never tried that until you suggested it, but I tried it with Shadow today and he was VERY intrigued! He followed my finger all the way to the center of the spiral and then proceeded to sniff it. My guess here would be that that motion is sort of bug-like, and Shadow in particular LOVES chasing bugs (he's quite an excellent catcher of house-flies, in fact). But again who knows for sure other than the cats!
Hey, I can't see any new posts on this site, should I refresh my browser's cache? Anyone else experiencing this?
I don't think it's up to anyone to judge what people's posts should be about. Why not allow everyone to just say what they want (in designated threads, ofcourse)?
I don't have a website yet, but I'm planning on starting a blog like yours, any tips?
I was once trying to write jokes, and it didn't turn out too well. I'm not the brightest lightbulb, and I live with my mom.
He's got a magnet!!! Everybody BACKUP!!!!!!!!
