Poking My Head Out...

I was about 10 years old when this picture was taken, and haven't hidden in many laundry hampers lately, but nevertheless the image pretty much captures my mindset right now:

At any rate, there are several things I really want to blog about -- but it's nearing the end of the work year and things are tremendously busy right now at my place of employment. I've been having to use most of my higher brain functioning for keeping up in that environment recently and that hasn't left me much cognitive energy in the evenings for complex writing.

Happily, I've had a nice long vacation approved (I'll be off work from December 6 - January 5!) so during that time I hope to produce some posts that will be a lot more interesting than this one.

Ha! I love seeing pictures of you when you were little. You must have been so tiny to fit in there!

These posts entertain me just as much as the other ones.

I hope your vacation is a very relaxing one. I keep telling J to get one approved for the same time period and he keeps forgetting. Argh.

Marla: Yeah I was very small for my age growing up, often the smallest person in my grade. I didn't think I'd ever even get to 5 feet tall but I ended up being nearly 5'3" when I stopped growing, so that's where I'm at now. I used to dislike being so little because people would tease me all the time for being short (among many other things) but nowadays I appreciate it, as it means my clothes are usually cheap and I don't have as far to fall if I trip over something.

And yeah, I have been bugging Matt about requesting his December vacation off too. :P I will have to bug him again next week if he hasn't still!

Oh, and there are more little kid pictures to be seen here, if you're curious.

I'm feeling very similarly at the moment (particularly having lots of things to blog about but not having the time or energy to do so).

In my case it's mainly because pretty much all the spoons i can get currently need to be melted down and forged into a suit of armour for the battle against General Winter... which i would love to find some secret weapons for, but haven't found any yet...

I was small as a kid too, then suddenly gained height around the age of 12 or 13 (and that was really just my limb bones getting longer - my head and torso are still proportionately very small, so that if they stayed the same size and my limbs were "average" proportionately, i'd probably be about 5'6" instead of 5'11")...

I also used to love climbing into things like laundry baskets. I used to turn one upside down and shuffle around with it on top of me, pretending to be a Dalek...

I also have end-of-year blogging fatigue. Although I was on vacation all last week, the days just flew by so fast that I'm still wondering where they went.
